Harley Quinn: Arkham City CU by SKBstudios Harley Quinn: Arkham City CU by SKBstudios
Introducing my Arkham City style Harley Quinn. I decided to do this piece way back when I first played Arkham Asylum and loved her nurse outfit, but Iíve been juggling one project after another since then so I only got to slowly hack at it in my extremely spare time. Before I knew it, it was mid 2010 and Iíd barely done more than rough her out, then the Arkham City 3d model sheet came out for her new costume and I really loved it as well. I also realized that most aspects of her costume are the same (her corset, boots, gloves, and bracelets are unchanged. So I began sculpting the Arkham City Harley with the intention of casting it and modding the original torso weapon and head pieces into Nurse Harley. I couldn't decide how severe her expression would be so I left the eyebrows off entirely, since they are needle thin in the game I thought it would look nicer to just paint them on as furrowed or relaxed as I wanted. Iím pretty happy with how these came out and itís awesome to have a Harley Quinn trilogy on my shelf along with my ďWhat-A-Bat!Ē piece. The piece is 12 inches tall, made in Super Sculpey firm

Damn nice! I also use Super Sculpey Firm when sculpting, and it's great :)
How did you get the material so smooth if you don't mind me asking? Around her shoulders and such, it looks perfect :) I usually try to smooth it by hand but it never really gets that good :)

I work it mostly with my hands, and some raking and planing tools, but that final perfect finish comes at the very end I give it a gentle 91% alcohol wash to erase my fingerprints or any loose flakes, hope this helps!

Nice thanks! I heard about going over the sculpt with either some alcohol or some oil, but I didn't dare to try it since alcohol and ovens sounded like a dangerous combo :P But no problems then? I'll definitly try it next time i Sculpt something :D

Oh rubbing alcohol evaporates in seconds, you don't want to douse it anyway, just go over it sparsely with a fine brush otherwise you could easily wash out details. There's no flammable residue, so no worries using the oven after, I do it all the time.
