Betty, the Rocketeer (full) by SKBstudios Betty, the Rocketeer (full) by SKBstudios
Finished. Really wanted a big plume of afterburn at her feet, like a Nasa takeoff. Can't decide if I'm gonna paint it cloudy white or dusty brown.

Had the pleasure of seeing this in the flesh on Benn's table at the UKGK expo yesterday. She's a beauty.

really great job Sean. she's a beaut.
about the burn, i have a suggestion for a neat base, how about if the cloud extends up a bit in a column and she plugs on to that? (instead of an acrylic rod??) just a thought..... :)

I did think about that Tim, but I looked at a bunch of jet afterburn pictures and noticed there's always a gap between the fire and smoke that is just pure heat, I wanted to emulate that and I wanted the plume to look more like it's spreading out from the blast since she's just taking off. That's not to say I might not do a mod once I get a cast.

This is awesome! Did you make the helmet and pistol out of polymer clay?

Thanks, yes, the pistol and helmet are both polymer, but the helmet rudder is styrene
